Donations
Dorothy Day Hospitality House does not solicit funds from local, state
or national government agencies. About half the necessary food and
supplies are donated; the remainder and other expenses (rent,
utilities, etc) must be covered by cash donations from individuals,
churches, corporations and other community organizations.
If you would like to help with a cash donation, please send a check payable
to Dorothy Day Hospitality House at the following address:

deductible under the law.
Please see our Wish List
for a list of supplies that we need.
Unfortunately we are not able to pick up donations. The best
time
to bring donations to Dorothy Day House is between 1:30pm and 2:30pm any day of the week when
the cooking crew is preparing the daily meal. It's a good idea to call
(203-743-7988) to make sure someone is at the kitchen before dropping
off donations. For directions to Dorothy Day House, click here. Cookies
and non-temperature sensitive food donations
are always welcome. If you have full trays of food prepared by a
licensed food service establishment (ex restaurant or caterer) which
has been kept under proper temperature control, then we will be glad to
accept to accept it. We cannot accept donations of meat which has
not come from a commercial supplier (ex no venison from hunters).
Dorothy Day House has limited storage facillities, so we are unable to
accept clothes donations (except for adult ski jackets, warm gloves,
hats, scarves and socks), household goods or furniture.
